Pixel 6 2021 Came With Big Screens, Big Ambitions, And Small Prices

 After Google has finally given its latest Pixel 6 2021 a formal unveiling after countless leaks, public teases, and months of anticipation. The new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are the latest high-end phones from a firm that hasn’t had much success in the high-end phone market in the past. Both are available for preorder beginning today, October 19th, and shipping will begin on October 28th. All major US carriers, as well as shops such as the Google Store, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Costco, and others, will sell the phones, according to Google.

There’s a lot to talk about with the new Pixels, but the most important thing to know is that they’re $599 and $899. Those are the starting costs for both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. That pricing is competitive when compared to equivalent iPhones, Samsung phones, or even OnePlus phones, especially when you consider that both base versions come with 128GB of storage. The latest Pixel phones look different than previous Pixel phones. Despite the fact that they share a design language, it isn’t particularly connected to the Pixel 5 or the Pixel 4 that came before it. Instead, these are more flamboyant, shinier phones, with polished metal frames (on the 6 Pro) and gleaming glass backs (on both). Each phone is available in three colors, however, the Pixel 6 Pro colors are more “professional” (read: boring), whilst the normal Pixel 6 2021 colors are plainly more fun.

We can’t quite put our finger on how we feel about the new designs, but they do have an undeniably generic vibe to them. These might be phones from Samsung, TCL, OnePlus, Oppo, or any of a number of other Chinese OEMs if the G logo is removed from the back. Prior Pixel phones were panned for having a bland design that resembled a reference design, yet they all had a Google-like style. We’re not sure if the new models have it or not.

By the way, according to Google’s guidelines for reviewers and influencers, we can now talk about hardware impressions and specs but not about software, performance, or image quality. It’s designed to give you hands-on experience; rest assured, we’ll have a lot more to say about it in the entire review.

The back camera housing is the most noticeable feature on the iPhone 6 and 6 Pro. It’s an enormous protuberance that spans the entire width of the phone and houses two (Pixel 6) or three (6 Pro) cameras and related sensors.

This camera boasts 48 megapixels (which may also be binned down to 12-megapixel output) with an f/3.5 aperture lens. 4x is slightly more reach than the iPhone 13 Pro’s 3x telephoto lens, but not nearly as far as Samsung’s 10x lens, which has been included on its high-end phones (not to mention the even longer lenses companies like Xiaomi and Huawei have deployed recently).

The front cameras are also different across the versions, with the Pixel 6 having an 8-megapixel camera with an 84-degree field of view and the Pixel 6 Pro having an 11.1-megapixel camera with a 94-degree field of view. With the 6 Pro, you’ll be able to fit more people in a selfie than you can with the 6.

New picture-editing tools enabled by the new processor include a “magic eraser” tool that automatically removes distracting areas from your images, as well as new long-exposure and motion blur capture modes.

Pixel 6 2021Both phones can shoot 4K 60fps video, which now includes Google’s auto HDR image processing, as well as 240fps slow-mo video at 1080p. The screens are bright and attractive, but if you rotate them off-axis, you’ll notice a considerable color change and a shadow in the curves of the 6 Pro. At this time, we don’t see those features on Apple or Samsung’s top screens.

Both of these phones are large, as you can undoubtedly see from their screen sizes. Unlike previous years, when Google offered a tiny and a large phone, this year’s range lacks a true little phone. In fact, the Pixel 6 2021 is roughly the same size as an iPhone 13 Pro Max; the 6 Pro is even bigger, though its curves assist to hide its bulk.

The 6 Pro feels more “premium” than the other two. Its aluminum sides are thinner and gleaming, whereas the normal 6’s sides are broader and matte. There are additional rough edges to find: the camera bar has a different radius curve than the rest of the phone, and the clickiness of the buttons in the phones we’ve handled so far is inconsistent.

Three New Color Options Added To Apple’s HomePod Mini

With Siri now able to interact with other smart speakers, Apple used its October event to unveil a new design for its HomePod Mini smart speaker. You’ll soon be able to get a HomePod Mini in yellow, orange, or blue, in addition to white and black (space gray).

New Macbook 16 Inch Pro, New M1 Pro And M1 Max Announced

Apple has unveiled its new  Macbook 16 inch Pro, promising a design and performance improvement. Next week, silver and space grey models will be offered, with a starting price of $2,499.

The new Pro may be configured with Apple’s new 10-core processors, the M1 Pro and M1 Max, which have eight “high-performance” cores and two “high-efficiency” cores. The M1 Max has twice as many GPU cores as the Pro (16 vs. 32), twice the memory bandwidth, and 64GB of unified memory (the Pro has 32GB).

The chassis has also been redesigned to be more modern. With a 16.2-inch display, the device weighs 4.7 pounds and is 16.8mm thick. Physical keys have replaced the Touch Bar, and the right side includes an HDMI port, as well as a Thunderbolt 4 port and an SDXC slot, while the left side has a headphone jack and two Thunderbolt 4 connections. The M1 Pro and M1 Max have a lot of ground to cover. When it comes to processing power, efficiency, and integrated graphics, Apple’s M1 CPU (which now powers the MacBook Air, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the Mac Mini, the iPad Pro, and the 2021 iMac) has blasted competitors out of the water.

Customers, on the other hand, have been anticipating Apple’s release of processor workstation devices, such as the 16-inch MacBook Pro and a possible replacement to the 27-inch iMac. Microsoft To Work On its Version M1 Chip For Surface

Microsoft may be lifting a page from Apple’s book. Microsoft’s Surface division recently posted a job listing (via HotHardware) for a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architect, implying that the company may be interested in producing its own version of M1 Chip For Surface Surface devices.

Because a job ad doesn’t confirm anything — it merely hints at what Microsoft might be working on — it shouldn’t be assumed that Microsoft is developing an M1 rival. It makes sense, especially because Apple is slated to release its M1X CPU next week, giving it a competitive advantage over Intel.

The most recent Surface products, such as the Surface Laptop Studio, are powered by Intel CPUs, maintaining Microsoft and Intel’s decades-long cooperation. Apple moved away from Intel with the introduction of its M1 SoC, which is cooler and quieter while providing comparable performance.

Going with an in-house SoC provides some advantages aside from vertically integrating the hardware. Instead of an Intel slot-in architecture, Microsoft would be able to choose the design that best matches its devices, potentially resulting in a more efficient SoC overall.

This is exemplified by the M1. It’s strong in the right places, but Apple skipped over features like support for multiple external monitors in order to keep the design-focused.

It’s no secret that Apple is on the cutting edge of SoC design. Intel’s Alder Lake processors, which use a hybrid design comparable to the M1, are taking notes. Even if we never see a Surface gadget powered by Microsoft-developed silicon, it makes sense for the company to look into it.

Despite the fact that the Surface Laptop 4 included an AMD processor, Microsoft has largely relied on Intel for its Surface line. And no Surface gadget has ever used Microsoft-developed silicon.

The job description mentions someone who can determine “the features and capabilities of SoC utilized on Surface devices,” implying that Microsoft is interested in a semi-customized design at the very least.

This isn’t the first time Microsoft has done something like this. The Xbox Series X uses a semi-custom AMD SoC, and Microsoft has advertised a job for an SoC silicon architect in its Xbox and Azure divisions.

However, we won’t know anything for at least a year. Microsoft recently announced a new generation of Surface tablets, and while the company may be working on its own SoC, it may opt to use Intel or AMD for the next generation. Nonetheless, Microsoft’s decision makes sense. Even Intel has stated that Apple would be its primary competitor in the future. We can only infer that Microsoft is looking into a similar project.

Nonetheless, we advise treating the posting with caution. A job listing doesn’t always imply that Microsoft is working on an M1 competitor.

Dr. Albert Antwi Boasiako Advises Ghanaians To Integrate Blockchain Technology Into Ghana’s IT Environment

Dr. Albert Antwi Boasiako, Ghana’s National Cybersecurity Advisor, has emphasized the importance of integrating blockchain technology into the country’s IT ecosystem, citing its superior security mechanism as critical to the country’s digital transformation.

Blockchain is a data-storage technology that makes it difficult or impossible to alter, hack, or defraud the system.

It’s basically a digital log of transactions that are duplicated and spread across the blockchain’s whole network of computers.

The event was organized by Ghana Blockchain Network with cooperation from Mobile Web Ghana, Ghana Dot Com, and the Bank of Ghana to enhance the multi-stakeholder approach to blockchain technology governance in Ghana and around the world.

Dr. Antwi-Boasiako claimed that the technology might aid Ghana’s land administration, boost industry and academic research, and emphasize the country’s need to investigate the technology. Dr. Antwi-Boasiako noted that in order for the technology to be accepted in the country, awareness must be raised, particularly among policymakers, and that all stakeholders must participate.

Mr. Pindar Wong, Commissioner, Global Commission on Internet Governance, also spoke at the event, claiming that the world was facing a “Financial Pandemic” due to the fast substitution of currencies.

Currency substitution, he stated, is the use of a foreign currency in place of or in addition to a country’s local currency, owing to the foreign currency’s high level of stability.

As a result, Mr. Wong has tasked regulators with “financial immunization” to address the problem.

“Financial Vaccination,” he explained, is about “immunizing one’s intellect rather than one’s body.”

“It necessitates a significant shift in perspective, leaving behind a linear style of thinking in order to evolve exponentially in an exponential world.”

Ghana Came Out 89th In Digital Quality Of Life Index 2021 In The World

Ghana is ranked 89th out of 110 nations in the third annual edition of the Digital Quality of Life Index (DQL). The DQL survey is undertaken by the cybersecurity business Surfshark and analyzes countries based on a set of five essential digital wellness pillars. It covers 90 per cent of the worldwide population.

Ghana, which is participating in the research for the first time, ranks 106th in internet affordability, 99th in internet quality, 99th in e-infrastructure, 78th in e-security, and 78th in e-government (83rd).

Ghana is ranked second in Western Africa, ahead of Senegal, Mali, and Côte d’Ivoire. Nigeria leads the region in internet affordability and e-government, but Ghana outperforms Nigeria in both areas. Furthermore, broadband internet in Ghana is four times faster and two times less expensive than in Nigeria.

Ghana, on the other hand, continues to rank towards the bottom of the internet affordability ranking. Ghanaians must labour about 21 hours to afford the lowest broadband internet package, which is 3.5 hours longer than the global average.

All aspects of digital welfare in the country may be improved, particularly e-infrastructure, internet quality, and pricing. Although Ghana and Nigeria have similar GDPs, their internet quality is vastly different. Nigeria is ranked 46th in the category, and Ghana barely cracks the top 100.

Due to weak mobile internet speeds and unreliable mobile internet connectivity, the country ranks lower (14.33 Mbps, ranking 104th out of 110 countries).

Following the trend from the previous year, six out of ten countries with the highest rankings are located in Europe. For the second year in a row, Denmark tops the DQL rankings, closely followed by South Korea

Finland is ranked third, with Israel and the United States rounding out the top five of the 110 countries assessed. Ethiopia, Cambodia, Cameroon, Guatemala, and Angola are the worst five countries.

In the Americas, the United States stands out as the country with the highest digital quality of life, while in Asia, South Korea takes the lead. People in South Africa had the highest satisfaction with their digital life in Africa, while Australia leads Oceania, outperforming New Zealand in key digital categories.

The following are some of the report’s other key findings:

1 This year, broadband is less inexpensive internationally. When comparing nations included in both DQL20 and DQL21, people will have to work 11% longer (25 minutes more) in 2021 to afford broadband internet. This year, though, consumers will have to work 29% less (28 minutes less) to afford mobile internet.

2 The world’s poorest internet is also the most expensive. In other nations, such as Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mali, a week’s worth of labor is required to afford the internet.

3 The most effective way to improve people’s digital well-being is to invest in electronic infrastructure and electronic government.

The DQL research for 2021 looked at a total population of more than 6.9 billion people using five core pillars and 14 supporting indicators to create a comprehensive assessment. The UN, the World Bank, Freedom House, the International Communications Union, and other organizations provided open-source data for the study.

Tesla Is About moving its headquarters to Austin, Texas 3 But Will Still Operate In California

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced on Thursday that the firm is relocating its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, where it has been building a new plant for just over a year.
