Three New Color Options Added To Apple’s HomePod Mini

With Siri now able to interact with other smart speakers, Apple used its October event to unveil a new design for its HomePod Mini smart speaker. You’ll soon be able to get a HomePod Mini in yellow, orange, or blue, in addition to white and black (space gray).

In this area, Apple is catching up to the competition. Google’s Nest Mini smart speakers come in blue and orange, while Amazon’s Echo Dot comes in blue, as well as some fun animal-themed hues on the Echo Dot Kids Edition.

Color-matched features will be found throughout the new speakers, including the tinted touch surface, fabric mesh, volume icons, and that (non-removable) power wire. They will be available in November for the same price as the original Minis, $99 each.

Apple also confirmed at the presentation that the Mini will function with the new Apple Music Voice subscription. This is a lower-cost version of Apple’s music streaming service that can only be accessed through Siri, however, there will be a limited app alternative; it will be available later this year for $4.99 per month.
